Suffragette afternoon tea

Ladies from Little Sutton Sapphires attended the Adelphi afternoon tea, to celebrate votes for women.
This event was run by Runcorn WI and members of the WI from all over Cheshire attended and had lovely tea/coffee/cakes and aperatif's. The WI walked through Liverpool to the Adelphi as well. Picture shows some of our members with the Little Sutton Sapphires sashes as well.


Sapphire of the Year

Each year Little Sutton Sapphires WI pick among their members a lady who has given the most throughout the year.
2018 Sapphire of the year was Pam Smith.

Fieldcrest Garden Tour

Some of our ladies went to Fieldcrest Garden this July and enjoyed a tour of a beautifully displayed garden. Refreshments were also included. Well done Bev for arranging this for the ladies.

Walking Netball

Ladies from Little Sutton Sapphires and Heswall Honeys joined forces on Monday for a session of Walking Netball. Louise Moss and Helen Wynne from All England Netball came along and put us through our paces. We had so much fun and look forward to the next session

Village Bakery Tour

A few Sapphires went on a tour of the village Bakery in Wrexham.

April Craft Group


Another Craft group in April, though small numbers was just as enjoyable and members continued to sew the items from last month and some made some new stuff.

South Wirral Darts

The Sapphires had their first tournament tonight. South Wirral Group ladies played a round Robin tournament.
Willaston Hey WI, Hooton WI, Capenhurst and Ledsham WI and Neston Riverside and Little Sutton Sapphires.
An enjoyable evening and the Sapphires won all their matches and came away with the Rose Bowl.

Inspiring Author

March's meeting for Little Sutton Sapphires WI was the Inspiring Author Gina Kirkham, local lady who after spending time as a Police Officer with merseyside police decided after her retirement to write about her experiences in a funny book called "Handcuffs, Truncheons and Polyester Thong.
Well worth a read.

Sapphire Dart Players

As part of the Cheshire Federation of WI's, Little Sutton Sapphires are also part of the South Wirral Group and are gearing up to playing in the darts match, between other WI's in that group. Some of the Sapphires at Darts Practise



Crafting Sapphires

Members of Little Sutton Sapphires WI attended crafting sessions at the local community center in Ellesmere Port.
Saturday 10th Feb was Flower Arranging and Sewing, where members mad two flower arrangements - Cup and Saucer and a Bowl


They then went on in the afternoon to make Car bin bags and shopping totes from Fat Quarters

Christmas Party

42 Brave Sapphires came on a windswept raining night to the village hotel in Brombrough for the Christmas Party. It was a Motown evening and was enjoyed by all.
