Annual Meeting

The Sapphires WI held their annual meeting on 8th November and l can say that by a unanimous vote our President once more is Adele Hewitt.
Congratulations!
Adele has been the inspiration for the Sapphires from 2015, when she first approached the Cheshire Federation to find out about opening a WI in Little Sutton.

The amount of ladies wishing to join the Sapphires WI, has made us think of somewhere larger we need to use. So we have moved to Little Sutton Methodist Church. From and idea, we formed

Little Sutton Sapphires WI This is a new WI in Ellesmere Port Cheshire, A meeting was set up to see just how many women would be interested in  WI in Little Sutton and we had 50+ ladies from all age groups attend. A WI  advisor from the Cheshire Federation came and gave us a talk about the WI how and where it started, and general information. We also had another lady who was an organiser of the craft marquee for the Cheshire Show, she came along to tell us all about the Centenary Marquee that was there last year. We where told that 7 miles of bunting and beautiful banners made by our WI’s where on show in the marquee, to celebrate the NFWI Centenary. It also made a wonderful backdrop for the amazing exhibits and displays on show. Over 500 entries provided a wonderful array of entries in cookery, preserves, wine making, cake decorating and sugar craft, fabric, yarn and hard crafts, art, flower arranging and photography. Cheshire Federation Autumn meeting

Officers of Little Sutton Sapphires WI attended the Autumn federation meeting for Cheshire at Winsford today (3rd October 2017) Super event and we had our picture taken with John McCarthy who was guest speaker for the day! One of the Sapphire members also found a picture taken from the Cheshire Federation page where she asked members to find a Sapphire in the audience.
